Why should I rent a private accommodation instead of a hotel room?

You have to take into account four main advantages.

a) The actual contact with the Cuban people which is, undoubtedly, one of the main attractions of Cuba. If you spend your holidays in a hotel you will never be in touch with a real Cuban family. That’s why the best way to know the customs and traditions of our magic island is to lodge among us.

b) Prices. Is cheaper to stay in a private room than in a hotel’s room. Besides, in many cases you will have the same comfort than in the best hotels. Saving some money in the lodge you will be able to extend your stay in Cuba.

c) You can not have Cuban guests in official hotel rooms. If you stay in a private accommodation you can invite your friends to your room. Of course, you have to manage this license with moderation.

d)- You can learn or practice your Spanish with your landlords and, if you are not very keen on learning foreign languages, in some cases the landlords also speak English.

Do I have to pay in advance ?
No, you will only have to pay once you arrive to the reserved place.

Can anyone pick me up at the airport ?
Yes, the owner of the reserved house or apartment will wait for you at the airport with a poster with your name. However, you will have to pay the transportation to the lodging. The price of a taxi from the airport to the city fluctuate between CUC 10.00 to 20.00 depending the area in which is located the reserved accommodation.

Do the Customs ask for something?

When you arrive to the airport you should have all the information of the house where your are going to be living, for example, address and name of the owner of the house. We will give you all this information.

Will I have to share common areas of the house or apartment with a Cuban family or other tourists ?

In some cases the family rents two rooms (which is the maximum allowed) and it’s probable that you will have to share some common areas with the landlords and/or other tourists. Don’t worry, you will have total privacy in your room in which you will have everything you may need.

If you are looking for total privacy we are able to offer you rooms and apartments with independent entrance. These rooms or apartments belong to the property in which the landlord lives. In these accommodations you won’t need to share any area with the family or other tourists. You must know that is not allowed to rent an entire property. If someone offers you a whole house or apartment for rent in a different way to the above stated you must be aware that it will be illegal. For more information, see Regulations in Cuba.

If we are travelling in a large group, can we stay all together in the same place ?

It depends. Suite Cuba can make large bookings for you, but if you are a large group is impossible that everybody stays in the same house, is illegal. The regulator body of this activity in Cuba only allows to rent two rooms in a same house or apartment. We can provide you reservations in a range of 100 meters but in several apartments of a building or in several houses of a same block. We would send you pictures of all the rooms you would book.

Could you offer us suitable conditions if we are travelling with small children ?

Yes, some of the houses or apartments with connection to this site are specially prepared to offer you the best conditions for you and your baby or small kids.

If I want to rent a lodging for several months can you offer me a place in a good neighbourhood for a cheaper price?
